Thabo (11) wants to become a private detective. If only his home, the small African village, was not the most peaceful Savannah paradise. But things take a sudden turn when a rhino is murdered in the safari park for its horn.
SAFE species are at risk of extinction and need our help. AZA member institutions are working together alongside their partners to help save these animals.
Help us save our animals!

The Wildlife Trafficking Alliance (WTA) is a coalition of more than 90 leading companies, non-profit organizations, and AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums working together to reduce, and eventually eliminate, the illegal trade of wildlife and wildlife products. WTA works with a variety of partners whose active engagement is essential to the success of the WTA goals.
Accredited members of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums are the world’s experts on the animals in their care, and also, through their cutting-edge conservation science and research, they help to conserve animals around the world.
That help is needed now more than ever, something you’ll learn more about in “Thabo and the Rhino Case.”
Experts agree, if we don’t act now, poaching and trafficking will wipe out many endangered species in our lifetimes. AZA’s goal is to stop the scourge of wildlife trafficking for good. We do this through our Wildlife Trafficking Alliance, a coalition dedicated to eliminating the illegal trade of wildlife.
And AZA’s Saving Animals From Extinction or SAFE Program is a collaborative conservation effort putting direct resources into species-saving conservation and research around the globe.
